Mr. Jim Zhang used to hold senior management position in government agencies, state-owned enterprises, transnational corporations and American public companies, he has extensive and strong experience in company management.
Mr. Jim Zhang is not only an active venture capitalist and also an active social entrepreneur. He has inspired groups of prominent Chinese entrepreneurs to join the cause of environmental protection. He is Co-founder of “China Entrepreneurs Club”, “China Entrepreneurs Forum”, “SEE Conservation” and “The Future Forum”. Mr. Zhang also holds several NGO titles, such as Chairman of The Laoniu Foundation and Chief Representative of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Asia Pacific Region.
In the past 20 years, Mr. Zhang received several honorary titles due to his contribution on environment protection area. He initiated a well-recognized environment protection program named” Kekexili Tibetan Antelope Protection Project” as early as 2001, supporting state and local government’s measures on setting up a protection zone to save the endangered Tibetan antelopes from massive blood killing by smugglers. This project has been successfully implemented and today the antelopes have been well-protected and recommended as the mascot of Olympics 2008. Due to his significant contribution, Mr. Zhang was awarded as “Honorary Guard of Kekexili Tibetan Antelope Protection”. Mr. Zhang has been playing major role in global shark protection activities, Mr. Zhang successfully made Chinese legislation changes to reduce shark-fins consumption in China. Mr. Zhang receives several honorary titles due to his contribution on global shark protection.
Mr. Jim Zhang graduated from Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications, and holds the MBA degrees from Norwegian School of Management BI and Management School of FUDAN University.
