Mr. Yuanqing Yang joined Lenovo Group in 1989.
Mr. Yang has played a key role in Lenovo’s transformation into a global company. Under his leadership, in May 2005, Lenovo completed the acquisition of IBM PC business. In October 2014, Lenovo completed the acquisitions of IBM x86 server business and Motorola Mobility. Now, Lenovo is not only a leading PC company in the world but also one of the major players in global server market and smartphone market.
In 2011, Finance Asia voted Mr. Yang the Best CEO in China. In 2004 and 2012, Mr. Yang was named “CCTV China Annual Economic Figure”. He was in Barron’s Best CEOs list in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2014, Mr. Yang won Edison Achievement Award.
Mr. Yang was born in Anhui Province of China in November, 1964. He graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China (“USTC”) in 1989 with a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Mr. Yang serves as the deputy to the 13th National People’s Congress of China; a member of the International Advisory Council of Brookings Institute; and a board member of Baidu, Inc.
