Description
我的Mekong | My Mekong is a photo exhibition about hometown in Xishuangbanna, the taste of childhood, the friendliness between people, Theravada integrated into every aspect of life, animistic worship, and a reverence for nature. 我的Mekong | My Mekong goes to the river to ask about the current situation of people who live along its shores. The images of 我的Mekong | My Mekong are personal to anyone who has spent time along the river. Photographing the Mekong is what Zi Bai does when he wakes up in the morning. His photos are a witness to the constant and steady flow of development. Zi Bai’s ongoing body of documentary photography is an articulation of transformation, an accumulation of the subtle daily changes that take place over time and have become a testament to the last traces of hometown life along the Mekong.
Join us in the DKU Water Pavilion on Tuesday (3/26) at 4:00pm for the grand opening of 我的Mekong | My Mekong with our visiting guest artist Zi Bai. Zi Bai will introduce his ongoing body of work through a Q&A with food from Xishuangbanna. The exhibition will run from 3/25 to 3/31 in conjecture with the Arts & Music Festival.
