Abstract:
This talk draws on a forthcoming book that will be published shortly by Cambridge University Press. The book provides historical context for the Belt and Road Initiative and looks at new some data on Chinese global infrastructure projects since 1949, particularly in the context of China’s international influence.
Speaker’s Bio:
Austin Strange is an assistant professor of international relations in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Hong Kong, where he researches and teaches international relations, international development, and Chinese foreign policy. His current work examines the domestic and international politics of historical and contemporary infrastructure projects in China and abroad.
