Academic Advisors

All undergraduate students entering Duke Kunshan University enter without a major and are assigned an academic advisor. Beginning at New Student Orientation, students will work with their academic advisors, and potentially others, to develop a long-range academic plan, explore degree options, select a major, and choose appropriate student success strategies to navigate college. Students develop personal academic plans that lay out future courses which are selected over remaining semesters and reviewed by advisors to confirm such courses will meet established requirements for graduation.

Signature Work Mentors

After you declare your major, you will have the opportunity to choose a faculty mentor (who may be your current advisor) to work with you on your Signature Work project. Signature Work Mentors help students identify major questions, problems, or issues on which they would like to work, and to develop a pathway that includes three thematically linked courses, one or more co-curricular (Practice-Orientated Education) experiences, and two capstone courses culminating in the student creating a substantial scholarly or creative signature product.
