Overview

Mission

Duke Kunshan University is a research oriented, liberal arts and sciences university, whose primary mission is to deliver the highest quality graduate and undergraduate education. In support of this mission, faculty development programs at DKU aim to help faculty realize their full potential as scholars, teachers and leaders through workshops and other resources, supported by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Faculty Development programs and initiatives are the result of collaborative effort with the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Research Support Office, the Office of Academic Advising and the Faculty.

Duke Kunshan University Faculty Research and Travel Award Recipients, 2018

The Office of Academic Affairs is pleased to announce that the following faculty members are the 2018 recipients of the DKU, Faculty Research and Travel Award

John Ji, Assistant Professor of Environmental Health Science; was awarded funding to support travel to attend the Planetary Health Annual Meeting in Edinburgh, UK, in June 2018. John has a D.Sc. in Environmental Health from the Harvard School of Public Health, MA. He joined DKU in 2017.

Yu Wang, Assistant Professor of Sociology; was awarded funding to support a research project entitled “Internal Migration and Marriage in China: The Rising Educational Hypogamy”. Yu Wang has a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, WI. She joined DKU in 2018.

Qian Zhu, Assistant professor of History; was awarded funding to support a research project entitled “Workers’ Happiness”: The Question of “Occupational Disease” and the Reproduction of Labor in China. Qian has a Ph.D. in History from New York University, NY. She joined DKU in 2018.
