DKU Library 2018 – 2019 Winter Break Reading Program

Winter Break is coming, but book reading never ends!

The Duke Kunshan University Library and the Office of Undergraduate Studies would like to invite all of you to participate in our Winter Break Reading Program. We have selected Life 3.0: Being Human in the Age of Artificial Intelligence for the 2018/2019 winter reading. Life 3.0, written by MIT professor Max Tegmark, is one of the New York Times’ 2017 Non-fiction Best Sellers. The book is highly recommended by Science Magazine, Professor Stephen Hawking, and Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX and co-founder of Tesla Motors. Life 3.0 will lead you to explore AI and its impact on business, society and even human beings. Understanding AI, thinking about the potential applications of AI in every aspect of the society, and discovering the relationship of technology to human beings will be meaningful to every one of us. While participation in this program is optional, you are strongly encouraged to read the book during the coming Winter Break. In Spring 2019, we will organize a community discussion about this book and the role of AI in the future. DKU administrators, faculty, staff – as well as all of you - will be invited to the event.
