In 2019–2021, the center will sponsor a series of academic conferences that take as a point of departure the theme China on the Move. Specific conference topics may include, for example, how Chinese industry is moving up the industrial and technological value chain in its production for the domestic and world economy, how migrants within China who are moving across the country are transforming society and posing new challenges for urban management, and how a newly confident China is moving out in its relationships with other countries through its multifaceted One Belt, One Road initiative.
