Lecturer: Yuwei Shi
Bio: SHI Yuwei is Professor in Strategic Management at the Middlebury Institute. His research interests center on competitive strategy and business model design, particularly in the context of social ventures and impact investing. He was an award-winning teacher widely known for his innovative pedagogy, course, and program design and delivery. A pioneer in the raw-case method of learning, he has led the development and successful launch of impactful programs including the Frontier Market Scouts Fellowship Program and the Blue Pioneers Eco-Leadership Program in partnership with Duke Kunshan University. Professor Shi served two terms as the Dean of the Graduate School of International Policy and Management at Middlebury. Additionally, he had a decade of experience as founder of a tech venture, an advising partner at a venture capital firm, and consultant to several prominent management consulting firms. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Master of Comparative Law from the Dedmen School of Law at Southern Methodist University, and PhD in Organization, Strategy and International Management from University of Texas at Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management.
