“A New Age of Sino-US Higher Education Cooperation” is the fifth annual conference in the Duke International Forum series. The forum explores and analyzes the key issues that have emerged as China-US cooperation in higher education has greatly evolved over the last four decades. The rapid expansion of the relationship has generated a series of unanticipated challenges that require the attention of educators, scholars, and government officials, especially under the current time of divergence. It is time to take a critical look at what has been done in the past and present, and explore new areas and models of cooperation for the future. This forum aims at identifying areas of common interest and benefit so that a new foundation for continued cooperation in the years ahead can be firmly established.
The forum will feature five themes: i) The Macro Picture of U.S-China Higher Education Cooperation, ii) Joint-Venture Universities, iii) Scholarly Exchanges and Talent, iv) Critical Issues in US-China Education Cooperation, and v) Looking Forward into the Future. A discussion panel and a Q&A session for attendees will follow the presentations on each theme. The speakers are world-class scholars and experts from various internationally renowned institutions, including CCG, Brookings, IIE, UC Berkeley, Peking University, the University of Hong Kong, etc.
