19:00 to 20:30

Nick Hawes is an associate professor of robotics at the University of Oxford

In this talk, Hawes will cover the basic ideas of AI planning under uncertainty with a focus on the control of autonomous robots operating in everyday environments. The work will cover Markov decision processes (MDPs), ways of specifying behavior goals in MDPs, and applications of these ideas to a range of real autonomous robots.
