Improvisation Theater Workshop
Location: Blue Oasis second floor lobby
Instructor: Mark Skinner
Improv actors not only have to discover worlds onstage with their partner but also find ways to communicate their discoveries with their partner to create the scene. The communication tools used in improv translate into the offstage world as tools for mastering interpersonal communication. In this fun, high-energy, three-hour session, students will experience exercises drawn from the world of improvisational theater, where actors create hilarious scenes before the audience’s eyes; without a script, props, rehearsal or any idea what they will do. Similarly, our facilitator will guide them toward connecting the learning from these activities to create collaboration tools they can immediately apply and even replicate in their own life.
