The third lecture in the Media and Arts Speaker series features Iris Long, a curator and researcher based in Beijing. The session will focus on curatorial and research practices on data, computation and artificial intelligence.
The speaker will introduce three exhibitions – “Lying Sophia & Mocking Alexa,” “De Javu” and “Mind the Deep: Artificial Intelligence and Art” – and elaborate on how curatorial narratives can be inspired and interlaced with notions from the field of computation when it comes to the curation of artworks investigating digital technologies. The talk will also explore how emerging technologies can “update” curatorial methodologies dynamically and how a curator, when “embedded” in such techno-scene, can raise critical responses.
