Brief Biography:    

Wei-Hong ZHANG, (MD, MPH, PhD, Postdoctoral of University of Oxford).   Advisor of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, P. R of China (2014-2021).  Experts of “Overseas Academicians and Experts Beijing workstation (2017-2021)”. Professor and supervisor of PhD and Postdoctoral in the field of reproductive health and maternal health at the International Centre for Reproductive Health (ICRH), Ghent University (UG), Belgium. She has long-standing experience in coordinating international projects, particularly EU-funded projects in Europe and China, she has been initiator and project leader of EU-funded FP7 INPAC project conducted in 30 Chinese provinces (2012-2017).   Her research experience covers prenatal screening, family planning, maternal mobility and mortality, environment and perinatal health, evidence-based maternal care and policy making. She has held the position of visiting professor at several Chinese universities and an adjunct professor at Tsinghua University, Research Centre for Public Health, Beijing, Tongji University School of Medicine, Shanghai; the National Research Institution for Family Planning, China. She has published papers as the first or last authors at BMJ and Lancet journals.  She is reviewer and associated editor for several high level of international journals. She is also appointed by European Commission as an external expert for evaluating the projects under HORIZON 2020. She teaches courses focused on public health, epidemiology, and evidence-based medicine.  Shi is academic coordinator at Université libre de Bruxelles for the health Science and responsible person of China platform of the faculty of medicine and health science at Ghent University, Belgium.
