ABSTRACT:

Professor ZHANG Weijun will give a talk on copyright protection and fair use in China. It covers three parts: foreign authors’ copyright and national treatment; protected works and term of protection; scope of the copyright and its limitation.

BIO:

Dr. ZHANG Weijun is a Professor and the Director of the Intellectual Property (IP) and Competition Law Research Center at Tongji University, and Counsel of WAN HUIDA law firm. He is also the Secretary General of the IP Law Committee of Shanghai Law Society, and a member in the National IP Strategy Expert Tank. His professional specialties include IP law, IP licensing, and anti-monopoly law.

Professor Zhang has been in charge of a number of research projects including Research on Scope of Copyrights and Neighboring Rights held by the National Copyright Administration during the second amendment of the copyright law. He has published 50+ treatises in prestigious newspapers and periodicals such as Journal of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A., IIC , Intellectual Property and China Intellectual Property News.
