Duke Kunshan Chancellor’s Scholarship to fund WHU graduates to study global health

January 18th, 2017. Duke Kunshan University and Wuhan University signed an agreement for a scholarship program that funds Wuhan University graduates to study global health at Duke Kunshan University.

Nominated by Wuhan University and selected by Duke Kunshan University, the recipient of the Duke Kunshan Chancellor’s Global Health Scholarship is entitled to a full scholarship that covers the tuition fee for Duke Kunshan’s 2-year Master of Science in Global Health (MSc-GH) program, and an additional $7,500 grant for an overseas field research project.

Despite its short existence, the MSc-GH program at Duke Kunshan University has already established a record of attracting top talents from prestigious universities around the world. Surrounded by the highly talented, passionate MSc-GH cohort, students will gain an extensive network of future developers in global health, as well as the knowledge and expertise needed to address complex health concerns that influence a society’s well-being. The founding of this scholarship program will further strengthen Wuhan University students’ presence at Duke Kunshan University.

In the discussion session of the signing ceremony, Executive Vice Chancellor Dennis Simon proposed that Wuhan University could have co-teaching online with Duke Kunshan University in future and got the positive responses from representatives on the scene. For example, the joint establishment of elective lessons of Global Health master program. Half of the courses can be taught by professors at Duke Kunshan University and the other half can be taught by professors at Wuhan University School of Health Science.
