KUNSHAN, CHINA --- Jessica B. Sandberg, the director of international admissions at Temple University in the United States, has been appointed dean of enrollment at Duke Kunshan University, Executive Vice Chancellor Denis Simon announced today.
Sandberg will begin her role on September 1st, and will oversee all recruitment, admissions and financial aid activities at Duke Kunshan, said Simon.
When Peter Ballentine told classmates at Cary’s Panther Creek High School he would be attending college in China, a typical reaction was: “Oh, great” … pause … “Wait, what?”
“At first they thought I was insane,” said Ballentine, who leaves for Duke Kunshan University August 5. “Or they thought it was a joke.
“Then they had so many questions, like how is the living situation there, what are classes like? Once they got used to it, they were very happy for me.”
