Dr. Hengjin Dong is a professor and executive director at the Center for Health Policy Studies, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. He was the leader of the Junior Group of International Health Economics and Technology Assessment at Heidelberg University, a senior research fellow at the Health Economics Research Group (HERG), Brunel University, UK, a post-doc and then a senior lecturer at the Department of Tropical Hygiene and Public Health, Heidelberg University, a professor and director of the Department of Hospital Management at the School of Public Health, Fudan University (former Shanghai Medical University, SMU). He obtained Bachelor in Public Health and Medicine in 1983, Master of Medical Science in 1986 from SMU. He obtained Master of Arts in Health Management, Planning and Policy from the Nuffield Institute for Health, the University of Leeds in 1991, and Ph.D. in Health Systems Research from the Division of International Health, Karolinska Institute in 2000. His research interests are healthcare financing and economic evaluation in health technologies.
