NSFC announced a few call for proposals for international collaboration programs.

1. 2024 NSFC and Belgian Foundation for Flemish Studies (FWO) Programs  link to announcement

This program supports joint research in Mathematics and Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, Engineering and Materials Sciences, Information Sciences, Management Sciences, Medicine.

Award: 12 awards, NSFC provides 2 million RMB to each grant, 3 years.

Eligibility: 1）Proposal PI must be leading PI in NSFC projects that lasts at least 3 years.  2）Applicant shall have senior titles such as professorship or research scientist. 3）The two sides (Belgian and Chinese researchers) have a good foundation for cooperation

Due date:  Please submit the proposal in NSFC system before May 16th, 2024.

2. 2024 NSFC and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)  link to announcement

This program supports research in生态系统（Ecosystem）, 气候变化（Climate Change）, 资源效率（Resource Efficiency）, and 环境治理（Environmental Governance）

Award: 4 awards, NSFC provides 3 million RMB to each grant, 5 years.

Eligibility: 1）Proposal PI must be leading PI in NSFC projects that lasts at least 3 years.  2）Applicant shall have senior titles such as professorship or research scientist. 3）Researchers have a good foundation for cooperation.

Due date:  Please submit the proposal in NSFC system before April 19th, 2024.

3. 2024 NSFC and Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) Programs  link to announcement

This program supports research collaborating with the 11 research centers affiliated with CGIAR in sustainable agriculture and biodiversity and climate change related research areas. E.g. The International Center for Biological Diversity (Biodiversity), the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), the International Potato Center (CIP), the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF), the International Crops Research Institute for the Semiarid Tropics (ICRISAT), the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI).

4. 2024 NSFC and Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Center (京港学术交流中心) Programs  link to announcement

This program supports organizing academic seminars or cutting-edge forums in the mainland in the field of mathematical and physical sciences relying on big science devices(依托大科学装置的数理科学领域), a life science field centered around food safety(围绕食品安全的生命科学领域), the field of medical science combined with clinical medicine(结合临床医学的医学科学领域)s.

Award: 3 awards, NSFC provides150,000 RMB to each grant

Eligibility: 1）Proposal PI must be leading PI or the main participant in the on-going NSFC projects that lasts at least 3 years.  2）PIs from mainland and Hongkong have a good foundation for cooperation.

Due date:  Please submit the proposal in NSFC system before April 16th, 2024.

5. NSFC announced the 2024 NSFC and Hong Kong Research Grants Council (香港研究资助局RGC) Programs  link to announcement

This program supports exchange activities for organizing conferences in the Mainland relating to Engineering Materials, Information Science, Medical Science.

Award: 3 awards, NSFC provides 200,000 RMB to each grant

Eligibility: 1）Proposal PI must be leading PI or the main participant in the on-going NSFC projects that lasts at least 3 years.  2）PIs from mainland and Hongkong have a good foundation for cooperation. 3）Applicant shall have senior titles such as professorship or research scientist. 4) Proposal PI age is younger than 45-year-old.
