Project Period and Requirements for Research Results:

1. Basic theoretical research tasks are generally completed within 3 years, with the final outcomes being either a monograph or a series of papers. Monographs must pass evaluation before publication; unauthorized publications will be considered a breach of the funding agreement, resulting in its termination.
2. Applied policy research, depending on the urgency and timeliness of the research problem, should typically be completed within two years. The outcome is a research report, with the core viewpoints or important policy recommendations usually required to be published in the Provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda Department’s “Propaganda Work Bulletin · Social Science Fund Special Issue” (省委宣传部《宣传工作动态·社科基金成果专刊》) before the project can be considered complete.

Eligibility and Quota Requirements:

1. Key project applicants must hold a professional or technical title of associate senior level or higher (副高级以上专业技术职称).
2. For youth projects, male applicants must be under 35 years old (born after August 2, 1989), and female applicants must be under 40 years old (born after August 2, 1984).
3. Applicants for a project can only apply for one provincial social science fund annual project and cannot participate as a team member in other provincial social science fund annual project applications.
4. Team members can participate in a maximum of two provincial social science fund annual project applications.
5. Project leaders of ongoing (not approved for completion before August 2, 2024) national or provincial social science fund projects are not eligible to apply for new projects.
