Budget Total: For projects submitted by universities and research institutes, the maximum municipal funding is 3,000,000 RMB/project.

Priority Areas: focusing on the key industrial sectors of the city’s ‘1030’ manufacturing industry system, including:

1. New energy 新能源
2. Next-generation information technology 新一代信息技术
3. Biomedicine and comprehensive health 生物医药及大健康
4. High-end equipment 高端装备
5. Emerging digital industries 新兴数字产业
6. New energy vehicles 新能源汽车
7. New materials 新材料
8. High-end textiles 高端纺织

Project Period: The research project duration is generally no more than 3 years.

Eligibility:

1. The PI must be a current employee of the project applicant organization (with an employment contract signed with the organization) and ensure that PI can complete the project tasks during their employment.
2. For applications from universities and research institutes, applicants must partner with a valid high-tech enterprise in Suzhou and sign a collaborative agreement. The cooperating enterprise should substantially participate in the project research and development work, and the project results should be applicable in the cooperating enterprise.
3. The collaborative agreement and the amount signed by both parties are important references for project approval funding, and the agreement and payment amount are crucial criteria for the mid-term review and project close-out review.

Quota Requirements:

1. PI from the university or research institute can only apply for one project under this plan per year.
2. The PI of the application can not have more than two ongoing municipal-level science and technology plan projects.
