The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China is calling for proposals for Major Research Projects in Philosophy and Social Sciences.

Priority Areas and What to Fund:

• Detailed topics please refer to attachment 1.
• Major Research Projects in Philosophy and Social Sciences: up to 46 projects and RMB 500,000 – RMB 800,000/project.

Project Period: January 1^st, 2025 – December 31^st, 2026

Eligibility:

1. The PI must be a person with a full professor, which is guaranteed by a legal entity (higher education institution) and must be capable of undertaking the actual organization and guidance responsibilities of the research project.
2. The PI cannot serve as the leader of a sub-project or a member of the research team for other projects in this funding proposal. The PI of a sub-project can only participate in the funding proposal for one project, while a research team member can participate in proposals for up to two projects.

Quota Requirements (the following situations disqualify PIs from submitting proposals):

1. Those who have not yet completed their current responsibilities for major projects funded by the NFSC, major research special projects, or other national-level significant research projects.
2. Those who have not yet completed their responsibilities for major projects under the Ministry of Education’s key research bases in the humanities and social sciences or major post-project funding for philosophy and social science research from the Ministry of Education.
3. PIs who are currently undertaking major research projects under the Ministry of Education’s major research projects in philosophy and social sciences and have not submitted the application for final achievement assessment by September 20, 2024 (Friday).

Application Process:

1. Applications should be submitted collectively and uniformly by the institution; individual applications will not be accepted.
2. Please fill out the application (see attachment 2) and send it to RSO by the internal deadline.
