  1. This major research plan addresses the core issue of the evolution and regulation patterns of spatial-temporal relationships in the interconnection of production elements in the future industrial internet, focusing on the following three scientific questions.

  1. Funding plans
    1. Nurturing Projects: for 2024, it is planned to support approximately 8 nurturing projects, with direct funding of about 800,000 RMB per project. The funding period is 3 years, and the research period in the application should be filled as “January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2027”.
    2. Key Support Projects: it is planned to support 6 key support projects, with direct funding of about 2.3 million RMB per project. The funding period is 3 years, and the research period in the application should be filled as “January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2027”.
    3. Integrated Projects: it is planned to support 2 integrated projects, with direct funding of about 10 million RMB per project. Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with enterprises or local government departments on a 1:2 matching basis. The funding period is 2 years, and the research period in the application should be filled as “January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2026”.

Proposal Requirements:

  1. Research should address fundamental scientific issues related to the future industrial internet.
  2. The contributions to achieving the overall goals of the major research plan and addressing core scientific issues should be clearly defined.
  3. Specific application scenarios should be identified, and research objectives should include quantifiable and assessable indicators.

Eligibility and Quota Requirements:

  1. Experience in undertaking basic research projects or other basic research activities (the applicant should be the PI for at least 1 NSFC research project).
  2. Holding a title of associate professor and above or holding a doctoral degree.
  3. Please refer to <NSFC 2024 Guidelines> for more details of quota requirements.
