Based on the bilateral cooperation agreement between the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) will continue to jointly fund collaborative research projects in 2024, promoting cooperation and exchange between scientists from both countries.

Priority Areas: Chemical Sciences and Information and Communication Technology

What to fund:

  1. Chinese side: 1,500,000 RMB per project (direct costs)
  2. Turkish side: 3,000,000 TRY per project
  3. The total number of projects to be funded will not exceed 8.

 

Project Period: 3 years. The research duration in the application should be specified as from January 1st, 2025 to December 31st, 2027.

 

Eligibility:

  1. The Chinese applicants should hold a senior professional technical position (title) and should either be currently leading or have previously led a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project with a duration of three years or more.
  2. For more detailed information on the applicant’s qualifications, please refer to the <2024 NSFC Guidelines>.

 

Quota Requirements:

  1. An applicant could only apply for 1 international (regional) collaborative research project per year.
  2. The PI currently leading an international (regional) collaborative research project cannot apply for another project in the same capacity.
  3. This project is not subject to restrictions on the total number of applications or projects being undertaken.

Application Process:

  2. Prepare the budget.
  3. Prepare the application form. More details, please refer to: 2024年度国家自然科学基金委员会与土耳其科学技术研究理事会合作研究项目指南.
    • The English application proposal jointly prepared by both parties (see Attachment 2 for the English application template). The basic content of the Chinese and English application proposals must remain consistent.
    • Cooperation Agreement (see Attachment 3 for the agreement template). Chinese and Turkish applicants must reach consensus on issues such as the content of collaborative research, exchange and visit plans, IP rights, and sign the agreement.
    • Applications that do not comply with the requirement to submit the above attachments will not be accepted.
