Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (住建部) is calling for proposals for the Key Special Program on “Critical Technologies and Equipment for Sustainable Urban Development” 城镇可持续发展关键技术与装备重点专项.

Budget Total: A total of 28 directions are planned to be launched, categorized into key technology and application demonstration categories, with approximately 539 Million RMB allocated from the national budget.

Priority Areas and Goals:

• To achieve sustainable economic, social, and ecological development in urban areas, efforts will be focused on enhancing technological supply in six key areas:
  • Spatial Optimization 空间优化
  • Quality Improvement 品质提升
  • Smart Operations and Maintenance 智慧运维
  • Green Empowerment 绿色赋能
  • Intelligent Construction 智能建造
  • Low-carbon Transition 低碳转型
• The goal is to provide an innovative technological system that supports improving the functionality and quality of cities and buildings, and achieving green, low-carbon, and sustainable development in China.

Project Period: the project implementation period generally does not exceed 3 years.

Requirements:

1. Submit the applications through 国家科技管理信息系统公共服务平台. Clearly explain the project’s objectives, evaluation metrics, innovative approach, technical roadmap, and research foundation. Ensure that the project application form and attachments are fully completed according to the specified format requirements.
2. The applications should include relevant agreements and commitments. The leading organization must sign a joint application agreement with all participating organizations.
3. The proposal needs to be nominated by Jiangsu Department of Science and Technology.

Eligibility:

1. PI must have the title of professor/associate professor/principal researcher scientist or a doctoral degree (高级职称或博士学位).
2. PI should be born after January 1st, 1964 (under 60 years old). The annual working time dedicated to the project should be no less than 6 months.
3. PI shall be the proposer of the main research concept and the scientific personnel who leads the research projects.
4. Experts involved in drafting the implementation plan of key projects or this year’s project guidelines are not allowed to apply for this project.
5. For specific application requirements, please refer to each application guidelines. In case with special provisions, those provisions shall apply.
