National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Dutch Research Council (NWO) are calling for proposals for collaborative research projects.

Budget Total: No more than RMB 300,000/proposal from NSFC (direct cost).

 

Priority Areas: Cities Amidst Climate Change: Enhancing Physical and Social Resilience in Urban Areas. Please refer to the Attachment 1 for details.

 

What to fund:

  1. Research funding and international cooperation exchange funding.
  2. Up to 4 projects.

 

Project Period: The research duration in the application should be filled out from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2029.

 

Eligibility:

  1. The Chinese applicants should hold senior professional technical positions (titles) 高级专业技术职务(职称)and have undertaken or be currently undertaking NSFC projects with a duration of three years or more as the PI.
  2. The number of domestic collaborative research units should not exceed 2 (at least 1).

Quota Requirements:

  1. An applicant can only apply for one international (regional) collaborative research project in the same year.
  2. The PI who is currently undertaking an international (regional) collaborative research project cannot apply for this project as an applicant.
  3. Applying for and undertaking this project as an applicant or PI is not counted towards the limit of 2 projects for personnel with senior professional technical positions (titles).

  2. Prepare the budget.
  3. Prepare the application forms. More details, please refer to: 2024年度国家自然科学基金委员会与荷兰研究理事会合作研究项目指南.
    • Applicants should co-write an English application with their collaborators (the English application template can be found in Attachment 2). The basic content of both the Chinese and English applications must be consistent, and the project title in English should exactly match the title in the English application.
    • Applicants from both China and Dutch must reach an agreement on the research content, exchange and visit plans, and intellectual property issues, and sign a cooperation agreement.
    • Project applications that do not submit the above required attachments will not be accepted.

 

Language: Chinese and English.

 

Internal Deadline: 12:00 pm, Monday, March 3, 2025
