Lecturer: Subas Chandra Kunwar

Bio: Subas Chandra Kunwar has more than 20 years of experience creating micro, small, and medium sized businesses to improve the economic and living conditions of rural communities and reduce deforestation. Since 2013, his work has focused on the design and implementation of interventions to effectively use renewable energy as a source of income for rural communities and ensure the financial viability of Micro hydro projects.  This work is conducted under the Renewable Energy for Rural Livelihood Programme (RERL) of Nepal’s Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC), a project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Mr. Kunwar has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the Birendra Multiple Campus Bharatpur, Chitwan and a Master’s Degree in Sociology from the Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur Kathmandu in Nepal.

* Dalia Patino-Echeverri is the Gendel Associate Professor of Energy Systems and Public Policy at the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University and Faculty member of Duke’s Energy Access Project (EAP), visiting the iMEP program at DKU for the 2018-2019 academic year.
